Hello, yes, I totally am the original Weekly Album Stream streamer. Today, we listen to Foyer des Arts - Die Unfähigkeit zu Frühstücken.

Good album.

The album was released in 1986, a few years after the Neue Deutsche Welle fell out of fashion. It was finished earlier thouch, but Foyer des Arts couldn't release it, because their label said it was too experimental or something, but their contract said they couldn't release it anywhere else, so as soon as their contract expired, they released it on some indie label. But it was way too late, since the NDW movement by then was long dead, buried by a flood of low quality imitators - lots of them way more popular today than Foyer des Arts. If I was in their shoes, I'd be really butthurt about this.

A "Dark Cabaret" band.
Wikipedia says the following:
"Dark Cabaret, also called Cabaret Noir, is a collective term for bands that blend the aesthetics of decadence from the Weimar Republic era, as well as elements of cabaret, burlesque, and vaudeville theater, with the attitude and style of punk, indie rock, folk, metal, gothic, and death rock."

In any case, we're not dealing with rock, metal, or punk here.

The Louvin Brothers - Weapon Of Prayer (1962)

Good ol' country and bluegrass music about god and patriotism.

Wikipedia:
"Their songs were heavily influenced by their Baptist faith and warned against sin. Nevertheless, Ira Louvin was notorious for his drinking, womanizing, and volcanic temper. He was married four times; his third wife, Faye, shot him four times in the chest and twice in the hand after he allegedly tried to strangle her with a telephone cord."
